With such a small cast, you can really feel how every member of a team pulls together to make the magic happen. Everyone helped where they could, and really took care of each other no matter what was happening on- and off-stage. Truly the best part of the theatrical experience.

A Valentine’s Day reading of Steven Dietz’s airport romance reconnection play.

Snowed in overnight at a middle-America airport, college lovers Elena Carson and Reed McAllister have an unexpected and life-altering reunion. Elena has stayed true to her hippie-ish, counter-culture path, while Reed has gone predictably corporate and conservative. As the night gives way to laughter, banter, remembrance and alcohol, Elena and Reed revisit a past that holds more surprises than they imagined—and a present that neither of them could have predicted. Filled with laughter and ache, SHOOTING STAR is a bittersweet romantic comedy about the middle days of our lives, and how we got there.

The Endangered Species Theatre Project’s mission is to bring enjoyment and understanding through live theatre that proactively focuses on diverse representation. We do this by: a) giving voice to forgotten plays and playwrights, b) increasing representation of women over 40 and other historically excluded artists on the stage, and c) making vital connections between people of all generations.

Our goal is to engage our artists and our community in the universal human experience.
